Commercial Software and Hardware Assistance
One of the major hurdles to breaking into and sustaining a business
in the Digital Art and Games business is the cost of commercial
software and hardware.
With the help of funding through Business ACT and the ACT Government's
knowledge fund AIE has purchased a few commercial licenses and
appropriate hardware to help small start-up companies associated
with the AIE compete on the commercial market. Current and ex students
can also access the workstations.
The installed software, which can also be used for training and
work experience purposes, includes:
Three Studio Max Licenses v 6
One Visual Studio License DotNET
One Alias|Wavefront Maya v 6
Four Adobe Premiere Pro licenses
For those who can afford it a small hardware maintenance fee may
be charged but the whole idea here is to help people establish
themselves in business and thus grow the industry within the region.
So whether you're completing a demo reel or tendering for work
or completing a rush job the Industry Development program can probably
help.
